The Writers' Room • Last activity 31/Oct

We are a group devoted to helping one another along in the writing journey. This is not a critique group and typically we do not share the writing itself. Instead, we come together to encourage one another, share resources, and offer support through the highs and lows of the writing life.

In joining this group, you are committing to posting once a week and responding to the posts of others. Typically we post about our writing--any successes or struggles, hiccups, or ahas. We post even if we're in a slump and not currently writing--particularly if we're not writing.

You are free to post whatever you like about your writing life but often we answer these two questions, for starters:

  1. What did you write last week?
  2. What did you read last week?

Members may opt to set a goal for the coming week, give life updates, or share professional updates. For example, perhaps you are working to submit your writing to agents or publishers, or working on your author website.

Members reply to one another's posts to acknowledge them and offer support.

As the group grows together over time, we hope it becomes about community as much as accountability. We all need fellow writers to give us a boost when times are tough and to do cartwheels when we succeed!

This accountability group is open to writers in any category/genre.

If you go silent for six months, you might be removed from the group. We'll welcome you back when you're ready.
