What we're looking for in members

Writers who are committed to publishing this year and need a consistent kick in the rear to make it happen. Writers who expect and can give respectful, thoughtful, and constructive feedback. Stories should be past their first draft (meaning you’ve looked at it and revised since originally writing) in order to ensure critiques are meaningful. Please read the critique manual found at https://www.inkedvoices.com/static/critique_sheet_long.pdf for a starting point but critiques should revolve around overall story, characterization, setting, plot, and dialogue. We expect a minimum of 75-100 words of critique for every 1000 words submitted (seriously, it’s easier than you think). Critiques should not only encourage the writer in what’s going well but also help the writer determine where there are opportunities to improve.

Inactivity Policy

2 months without a submission or a critique and you will be removed from the group. If you are going to be inactive (planned or unexpected), please inform the group.
