Query Lecture and Critiques - Novels

August 9th, 2017 - September 16th, 2017

with Brooke McIntyre

Group started
Getting ready to query agents? Or querying already and not finding success? Get query letter feedback from author Kris Asselin, the "Query Godmother." You'll submit your query, and exchange feedback with your peers. Kris will post her written comments and then will lead the group in a debrief and Q&A call after the first round of critique. Participants will get a chance to revise their queries and resubmit to the group for a second round of feedback.

This workshop includes the Queries webinar with Kristine on July 18th. If you are unable to participate live, we will send you the recording. There is no need to register for the webinar separately.

About Brooke McIntyre

Kristine Asselin is the author of sixteen works of children’s nonfiction as well as the YA novel Any Way You Slice It. Her debut Middle Grade novel comes out in February 2018.

Kris' last round of queries received over 50% request rate, and gave her three agent offers. As a query expert she has presented workshops for Romance Writers of America (RWA - New England Region), New England SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators), New Jersey SCBWI, The Writers Loft in Sherborn, MA, Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner, MA, and Hollihock Writers Conference.

She loves being a Girl Scout leader and an Assistant Regional Adviser with the New England chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She is a sucker for a good love song (preferably from the 80s), and can’t resist an invitation for Chinese food or ice cream (but not at the same time!). She lives in Central Massachusetts with her teen daughter and husband. You can find Kris online at www.kristineasselin.com or www.querygodmother.com.
