Advanced Picture Book Writing Workshop, with Stephanie Fretwell-Hill

November 20th, 2019 - March 11th, 2020

with Stephanie Fretwell-Hill

Group started

In this workshop, picture book writers will work with literary agent Stephanie Fretwell-Hill and a group of peers to revise and polish a manuscript for submission. At the start of the group, writers will submit three stories to determine which story to focus on for the remainder of the workshop. Writers will do a broad revision of the selected story for their second submission, and will polish their work for their third submission. For all rounds, writers will peer critique one another's work in addition to receiving feedback from Stephanie.

While the workshop allows significant time for revision and critique, the time tends to pass quickly, and participants should be mindful of their schedules when considering this group. The first round of critiques in this group is particularly time-heavy and participants should plan on spending 8-12 hours on this round of peer feedback. The 2nd and 3rd rounds will be a smaller time commitment (4-6 hours of critiques) because these rounds involve 1 submission per writer.

This workshop will be limited to 5 writers.

Notes
