Picture Book Critiques, with Emily Feinberg

October 26th, 2017 - November 19th, 2017

with Emily Feinberg

Group started
Get your fiction or non-fiction picture book manuscript critiqued by editor Emily Feinberg of Roaring Brook Press. You'll also meet other serious Kidlit writers, sharpen your eye by giving feedback and receive the benefits of workshopping with a small group. How it works: Submit your manuscript to the group when the group kicks off October 26th. Then, group members have 2 weeks to exchange feedback on one another's work (you are expected to critique all submissions). Emily will post her critiques towards the end of that time. After critiques are complete, writers meet with Emily via web meeting the evening of November 13th. Each writer gets one-on-one time to discuss their manuscript with Emily during this meeting, and the remaining time is for your general questions. Participants will have the opportunity to query Emily after the event's close.

This group will be capped at 10 writers. Participants are expected to critique all submissions.

About Emily Feinberg

After earning her master’s degrees in Children’s Literature and English Literature from Simmons College in Boston, Emily joined the editorial team at Roaring Brook Press. She works mostly with picture book, middle grade, and nonfiction titles. She edited Elisha Cooper’s Big Cat, Little Cat, which earned five starred reviews, Maria Gianferrari’s Coyote Moon (illustrated by Bagram Ibatoulline), which earned three starred reviews and was a 2016 ALA Notable book, the spooky middle grade novel by Marina Cohen, The Doll’s Eye, among others. While she is always looking for solid, voice-driven picture books and middle grade, she also particularly loves nonfiction for young readers of all ages. Emily is not an editor of fantasy.
