Picture Books, with Rachel Orr

April 9th, 2018 - May 2nd, 2018

with Rachel Orr

Group started
Preparing your picture book manuscript for submission? Get your manuscript critiqued by literary agent Rachel Orr of Prospect Agency. You'll also meet other serious kidlit writers, sharpen your eye by giving feedback and receive the benefits of workshopping with a group - like meeting other writers, and learning by exchanging feedback. How it works: Submit your manuscript to the group when the group officially kicks off on April 9th. Then, group members have 2 weeks to exchange feedback on one another's work. Rachel will post her critiques towards the end of that time. After critiques are complete, Rachel will host a debrief call where each writer gets individual time with her to address key feedback themes and discuss both manuscript and writing questions.

Inked Voices and Rachel Orr are pleased to offer a place in the workshop, free of cost, to a diverse writer. Apply: https://inkedvoices.typeform.com/to/fNFUxa

Focus: picture books

Group size: 9 writers

Submissions: Submit one picture book under 1000 words.

Members: $72; Non-members: $90

About Rachel Orr

Jackie Robinson / HarperCollins), Barbara DiLorenzo (Renato and the Lion / Viking), Cori Doerrfeld (The Rabbit Listened / Dial), Rebecca Minhsuan Huang (Bobo and the New Baby / HMH), and Todd Tarpley (Beep! Beep! Go to Sleep! / Little, Brown). Rachel lives in Hoboken, New Jersey, with her husband and two children.
