Young Adult Fiction First Pages, with Saba Sulaiman

April 8th, 2020 - May 4th, 2020

with Brooke McIntyre

Group started

Preparing your YA manuscript for submission? Get your opening pages critiqued by Saba Sulaiman, associate literary agent with Talcott Notch Literary Agency. You'll also meet other serious YA writers, sharpen your eye by giving feedback and receive the benefits of workshopping with a group - like meeting other writers, and learning by exchanging feedback. How it works: Submit your manuscript to the group when the group officially kicks off on April 7th. Then, group members have 2.5 weeks to exchange feedback on one another's work. Saba will post her critiques towards the end of that time. After critiques are complete, we will have a group debrief call where each writer gets individual time with Saba to discuss their manuscript and writing questions.

Saba Sulaiman and Inked Voices are pleased to offer a spot, free of charge, to a writer from a diverse background. Apply through 3/11: https://inkedvoices.typeform.com/to/vOSvdf

About Brooke McIntyre

Saba Sulaiman is an agent at Talcott Notch Literary Services, a boutique agency located in Milford, CT. She holds a BA from Wellesley College and an MA from the University of Chicago, where she studied modern Persian literature. In children’s fiction, she is building her Middle Grade and Young Adult lists, and is particularly (although not exclusively) interested in contemporary realistic stories. Being an immigrant who is constantly negotiating her own identity and sense of belonging in a place she now calls “home,” she is committed to highlighting more diverse voices with compelling stories to tell; stories that demonstrate the true range of perspectives that exist in this world, and address urgent and often underexplored issues in both fiction and non-fiction with veracity and heart.
