Rhyme Time • Last activity 15/Aug

The is a small group where members post a short rhyming piece each week based on a prompt which we take turns choosing.

The main purpose of the group is for us to gain rhyming practice without worrying too much about what others think, or committing too much time, so there will usually be no critiquing. However, each member will have the option of requesting feedback on one piece per month.

The group can also be used as a discussion forum, for sharing rhyming resources, asking questions, etc.

The group is open to both adult and kidlit writers, serious and not-so-serious poets, but it’s not for beginner rhymers.

Genres

Adult

Poetry (Poetry)

Children's

Picture Books (Fiction, Nonfiction)

Goals

To improve our rhyming and meter skills by writing and posting a weekly rhyme based on a prompt.

Admissions Policies

Members should have a reasonable understanding of rhyme and meter. You should have been writing in rhyme for a while and/or spent some time studying the subject (perhaps taken a class such as Renee LaTulippe’s Rhyme and Meter Course.) You can opt not to receive feedback on any of your posts, but you must commit to providing feedback to each member once per month if requested.

What we're looking for in members

Writers committed to improving their rhyming and meter skills and helping others do the same.

Inactivity Policy

If a member doesn’t participate for three consecutive weeks, they may be asked to leave.
