After the First Draft - Novelists • Last activity 24/Apr

We are a group of experienced writers who enjoy the craft and understand critiquing the work and reading similarly published novels will only make our writing stronger. This group critiques the work (not the author) and points to the words/techniques that work great and the pieces/words/techniques that might need a little work because "it stops the reader and pulls them out of the story," or the tense shifted and it didn't appear to make sense, or is this the right point of view character (etc.). This group supports the forward progress of the first draft and the essential need for a rewrite.
