with Brooke McIntyre

Group started

Preparing your narrative nonfiction picture book manuscript for submission? Get your manuscript critiqued by Emily Feinberg, Senior Editor at Roaring Brook Press, and workshop with your peers. How it works: Submit your manuscript to the group when the group officially kicks off on November 23rd. Then, group members have 2 and a half weeks to exchange feedback on one another's work. Emily will post her critiques towards the end of that time. After critiques are complete, we will have a debrief call where each writer gets individual time with Emily to address key feedback themes and discuss both manuscript and writing questions.

Emily Feinberg and Inked Voices are pleased to offer a spot free of charge to a BIPOC writer. Apply by November 12th.

About Brooke McIntyre

After earning her master’s degrees in Children’s Literature and English Literature from Simmons College in Boston, Emily joined the editorial team at Roaring Brook Press. She works mostly with picture book, middle grade, and nonfiction titles. She edited Elisha Cooper’s Big Cat, Little Cat, which earned five starred reviews, Maria Gianferrari’s Coyote Moon (illustrated by Bagram Ibatoulline), which earned three starred reviews and was a 2016 ALA Notable book, the spooky middle grade novel by Marina Cohen, The Doll’s Eye, among others. While she is always looking for solid, voice-driven picture books and middle grade, she also particularly loves nonfiction for young readers of all ages. Emily is not an editor of fantasy.
